This year, I will be graduating from university and will become a professional trekking guide in the Pamirs. I am truly a girl from the mountains; I love hiking and trekking. I cannot imagine my life without the mountains.

The Pamirs are home to the highest and most beautiful mountains in the country. Everyone should climb them at least once. I am proud and happy to live here, away from civilization, where the simplicity of life suits me. I began going to the mountains in 2015. It was difficult; you have to be strong and, more importantly, patient with the difficulties that arise. Despite these difficulties, I am confident that I have what it takes to live this life.

In 2017, I interned as a guide for 10 people with the British tour operator Untamed Borders. At the end of the trek, I was proud of myself as it was the first time I had led a big group, and I had given it my all.

As a member of WRIP, I want to prove that women, too, can ask more of life (just like men!). I am happy to be part of WRIP and to continue learning, especially because this project allows us to be recognized as professional guides. I think that WRIP will continue to grow and develop sustainably, because many women are motivated to join the organization. I am going to work hard so that others can join us, so that we can showcase the beauty of our country to tourists and prove that women can do the same jobs as men, no matter how difficult.
